-Softball at PCHS is founded.  They were coached by Roger Stout and Rick Gant.  The team won their first round of Sectionals against Wirt County, but lost the second round to Parkersburg South.  This was in the days before Softball was divided into classes.
- The second year for PC softball brought a record of 4-15 with many young and inexperienced players.
- The '88 squad defeated all single A schools on their schedule, and also bumped off Ravenswood (AA school).
-  Captains Samantha Lewis, Kristie Moore, and Christa Roedersheimer led the team to a 20-10 victory over Wirt County.  The  'Bad News Blues' didn't have much success the rest of the season, which was cut short due to incessant rain.
- With the most youthful (1 senior, 1 junior, 3 sophomores, 9 freshmen) and injury prone (8 major injuries) team yet, PC still managed to win three games. Amy Eichstadt made first team All-LKC, while Cheryl Stout and tri captain Nicole Roberts made second team.  Honorable Mentions were Judy Smith, Amy La Barre, and Mary Doyle.  The other captains were Kelly Brogan and Sarah Wolfe.
- This year's team presented the winningest record ever at 10-19.  They won the Sectional, and all of the starting players made all-LKC.  Cheryl Stout was on the first team (as well as first team All-State), and Shannon Brogan was named to second team.  The Special Honorable Mentions were Jennie Burdette, Mary Doyle, Amy Eichstadt, and Amy La Barre, and Honorable Mentions went to Molly Doyle, Trina Roedersheimer, and Kelly Brogan.
- The Crusaderettes had a record this year of 8-4.  They were Sectional Champions, once again defeating Wirt County.  This was Coach Larry Brogan's first year as assistant coach and pitching instructor.  Cheryl Stout was first team all-state and Amy Eichstadt made second team.  Both ladies also made first team all-LKC. Second team LKC were Trisha Dawson, Kelly Brogan, and Shannon Brogan.  Christi Flanagan and Amy La Barre were awarded honorable mention.
- This year's team was full of players who aquired excellent recognitions.  The Crusaderettes won 13 out of their 27 games and placed seven players on the All-LKC list.  Dave Woody joined the coaching staff, and 8th graders Erin Brogan and Sheri Milanese were the bat girls.  Cheryl Stout made first team All-State and All-LKC, while Shannon Brogan made second on both teams.  Special Honorable Mention LKC were Amy La Barre, Trisha Dawson, Laura Ward, and Lisa Fisher.  Sandy Herrick was also awarded Honorable Mention.
- "A uniform doesn't make you a team player" was this year's theme.  Captains were Shannon Brogan, Lisa Fisher, and Laurie Keife.  Their final record was 13-9.  Shannon Brogan pitched the first ever no hitter in a 12-0 game vs. Braxton County (4/22/94).  The girls lost in the Regional Semifinals, continuing to get ever closer to State.  Shannon Brogan made Honorable Mention All-State and second team All-LKC along with Lisa Fisher.  Selena Bower and Laura Ward were awarded special honorable mention All-LKC, and both Erin Brogan and Sheri Milanese earned honorable mention.
- This was Coach Stout's final year with the Crusaderettes.  The girls this year made it all the way to the Regionals with a record of 15 -8.  Laura Ward, Sheri Milanese, and Amanda Ondrusek were named All-State honorable mention.  Amanda and Sheri also received first team All-LKC.  Erin Brogan made second team, and Laura Ward and Sarah Burkett were awarded Special honorable mention all LKC.
- Dave Woody's first year as head coach was a tumultuous one, with a record of 6-7, neither Erin Brogan nor Amanda Ondrusek able to play their Junior season due to injury, and a heavily-disputed and appealed Sectional final game in the rain.  Despite the set-backs, Laura Ward and Jenny Evans made first team all LKC and 3rd team all state.  Other LKC honors were Sheri Milanese and Amanda Smith with second team; Sara Roedersheimer with Special honorable mention; and Amanda Ondrusek and Amanda Thomas on third team.
- This year took the softball team farther than they had ever been before: all the way to state.  Led by captains Erin Brogan and Amanda Ondrusek, and bolstered by the addition of assistant coach Mike Smith, the Crusaderettes battled their way to a final record of 13-13.  The girls had a 7-6 win over Gilmer County in the Sectional, and then a terrific 6-5 win over #3 ranked Buffalo Putnam in the Regional.  The team made a great showing down in Milton, losing their first game against Wheeling Central 7-0; beating Midland Trail and Harts by respective scores of 6-5 and 3-2;  and ending the season at #2 in the state when they lost the final game against Central 13-3.  The girls had everything to be proud of in this star-studded season.  All State honorable mentions were Jenny Evans, Sheri Milanese, and Erin Brogan.  Jenny, Sheri, and Amanda Smith were awarded All State Tournament Team.  Sarah Burkett made first team all LKC, and second team honorees included Erin Brogan, Jenny Evans, Sheri Milanese, and Amanda Smith.
- Senior captains Karen Ellis and Amanda Smith led this year's young team to a 9-6 sectional victory over Gilmer.  Christi Flanagan rejoined the team, this time around as an assistant coach, and Cheryl Woody was also promoted from bat girl to statistician this year.  The Crusaderettes placed 9 players on the All-LKC list.  Amanda Smith was on the first team, and Emily Evans placed on the second team.  Special Honorable mentions were Brenda Weigand, Christina Bailey, and Laura Williams.  Honorable mentions were Laura Penczak, Rebecca Tokodi, Rachael Burkett, and Elizabeth Bailey.
- Although the young 'ettes of this year did not have many wins, they did have a lot of heart and success. Captains Emily Evans, Christina Bailey, and Laura Penczak led the team to the Sectional Title over Gilmer County.  Composed of 6 Freshmen, 4 Sophomores, 4 Juniors, 2 Seniors and Kasturi from Equador, the team proved that despite their young age they could still pull together and work as a productive team.  These Sectional champions of '99 would prove to be even more successful in years to come.
- A 13-10 season against tough competition (9-3 vs. "A" opponents) resulted in another Sectional title.  This year's tournament was double-elimination, which turned out to be a good thing, since we lost the first game to Williamstown.  PC stormed back to beat Gilmer County, then Williamstown twice to secure the Title.  Though we lost to Buffalo in the Regionals, it was a fine season overall.  Laura Penczak was named Second Team All-LKC, and Christina Bailey, Brenda Weigand, Rebecca Tokodi, and Meghan Hanlon were accorded Special Honorable Mention.
- An excellent season in all respects ended sadly as the girls lost in the Sectional Final to Wirt County, who did advance to the State Tournament.  An 8-11 record was begun by going 2-1 on the longest day in softball history, as the girls waited through rain, snow, and plummeting temperatures to take 2nd place in the Braxton County Tournament.  The Senior leadership of Rebecca Tokodi, Brenda Weigand, Rachael Burkett, and Maria Schilling carried the team through a season of ups and downs.  The ending was perfectly typical, as the girls lost the First Round game to Wirt, then defeated Gilmer County in the elimination game.  With the end of the season on the line, our team rallied for 5 runs in the 6th inning to extend the Sectionals for one more day, but the girls came up short in the finalé.  The team will always look back on that next-to-last game as the best they ever played.  Whitney Golden was named to the All-LKC First Team, and Angela Hattman, Rebecca Tokodi, Brenda Weigand, and Cheryl Woody were named Special Honorable Mention.
- Another good year ended badly, as we lost the Sectional Championship to Wirt again, this time in a ludicrously muddy debacle.  Our 7-14 record was definitely below expectations, but our effort, determination, and progress was evident all year.  We had some thrilling 1-run victories, and lost some blowouts that didn't feel too good.  The penultimate game was once again probably our best, as Cheryl twirled a 3-hitter, but Meghan's double was our only hit of the day, so we lost 0-2.  Feeling snakebitten, we lost the final game, and ended our season.  Cheryl made First Team All-LKC as a Utility player, while Whitney was on the 2nd Team, and Angela, Meghan, and JC were named Honorable Mention.
- With steady improvement by a young team, a 4-15 record wasn't as bad as it sounded.  The team donned new uniforms in mid-season, and continued to stay positive as the team grew and developed.  Several players settled into new positions, and eventually made their mark as they learned the nuances of their responsibilities.  The girls lost out to Wirt County in the Sectional, a team that eventually made a trip to State.  Danielle Carpenter was named to the 1st Team LKC for her outstanding display of defense in Center field, while Jessie Collins was on the Second Team as a Pitcher.  Stephany Windland, Megan Schilling, and
Senior Katie Ferguson were all named to the Special Honorable Mention squad.
- This team grew into itself well as the season progressed, and finished the year playing the best ball they had all season.  With excellent Senior leadership, and other players developing well during the year, our girls knocked off both Wirt & Gilmer Counties in the Sectional before succumbing to a very talented Williamstown team.  An injury to Courtney Voshel pre-season was a serious setback, but Jessie Collins, Jessie Bickert, and Megan Schilling each had their best season at the plate, as did Junior Danielle Carpenter, and Sophomore Pitcher Veronica Lech.
- Finishing strong, our girls filled in big holes left by the previous year's Seniors, and once again displayed their ability to play their best games under the greatest pressure.  With the toughest seed and most difficult schedule, our girls fought hard in the Sectional, eliminating Williamstown, but suffering narrow defeats to St. Marys, who went to the Regional finals.  Pitching 4 games in 2 days, Veronica showed the mental and physical toughness that our teams are proud of.  As our Most Valuable Pitcher, Veronica was also named to the Honorable Mention teams for both the LKC and All-State.  Also on the All-State Team and the LKC 1st Team was Shortstop Stephany Windland, who was our Most Valuable Fielder.  Veronica was also our Co-Most Valuable Hitter, with her highest average yet, along with emerging Freshman Kayla Perkinson, who also made the LKC Honorable Mention squad.  Our Co-Most Valuable Baserunners were Kayla (who swiped 11 bases without being caught) and newcomer Sarah Tokodi, who proved to be a valuable addition to the team.  Danielle Carpenter and Taylor Phillips also made the All-LKC Honorable Mention team.  Though we lost 4 valuable Seniors, it is difficult not to look forward to next season, considering the development and returning talent of this group.
~ This team made significant progress as the season went along, but lost out in the Sectional, with a tough loss to Williamstown, then a defeat by St. Marys.  With lots of experience on the team, we expected a high level of play, and were rewarded many times with exceptional performances.  Veronica Lech was our stalwart Pitcher, taking every decision in a 5-15 year.  Though her record did not reflect the full measure of her ability, her 3.46 ERA was good enough to help her to the all-time lowest career figure for any Crusaderette.  She also threw 2 No-Hitters (one at Gilmer and one at Doddridge), produced her highest seasonal batting average, and led the team in Assists.  Ashley Fraser led the team with her .381 Batting Average and .508 Slugging Percentage, while Sarah Tokodi led the team with 15 Stolen Bases.  Michelle Offenberger once again played in every game of the season, and Elizabeth Slone returned to Softball successfully, with a .317 BA.  Unfortunately, all those girls graduated, leaving us looking forward to an uncertain future.  The LKC team was rather unkind to our girls this year, though Veronica made 2nd Team Utility, but Veronica and Ashley were named to the All-State team.
~ A tenuous season became more stable when X Seniors decided to join the team and help fill out the squad.  Excellent leadership was provided by our nucleus of experienced Captains, Seniors Marley Petrella and Katy Hurley, along with Junior Kayla Perkinson.  Though the team only managed a 3-18 record, they did accomplish a double-header sweep of Doddridge County in wildly exciting games, and a 3-inning No-Hitter by Joni Casto in the LKC playoff game.  (Two days later, Coach Woody suffered a heart attack, but the two were not connected in any way.)  Kayla had a phenomenal season at bat, finishing with a .510 average, which led the team and the league.  She also led our team in Slugging Percentage, Runs Batted In and Stolen Bases, while NEVER Striking Out, and was named to the 2nd Team All-LKC as well as the 2nd Team All-State team.  Natalie Spanner was second on our team in most hitting categories, including a .349 Average, while Marley finished third at .254     Joni led our team in Wins and Innings, while Katy led in Strikeouts and ERA.  Marley, Katy, Joni, and Natalie Spanner were named to the Honorable Mention All-LKC Team.
