PCAA Minutes are HERE

At PCHS, we feel justifiably proud of our tradition of excellence in a variety of sports. Over the years, our teams have consistently achieved well beyond the limit our numbers would seem to allow. Students at PC regularly participate in 2 or more athletic areas, and their commitment and dedication has paid great dividends. PCHS offers varsity opportunities in 11 areas, allowing our students a multitude of ways to excel. As a result, we have been rewarded with courageous and skillful performances by a great many of our talented students.  Making these accomplishments sweeter still is our no-cut policy, which ensures that any student who wishes to share the team experience will be afforded that opportunity.
Our student athletes are not just participants in their sports, but have proven to be highly skilled in their activities - among the best in the state.  On a visit to our gymnasium, you will see on display banners that recall our most outstanding achievements:  State Championships in Girls' Basketball (1977, '78, '83, '84, '91, '97, '98, and '05), Boys' Tennis (1996, '97, & '99), Volleyball (Twice in 1995), Girls' Tennis (1998), Boys' Basketball (1999), and Golf (2005).  For the school year of 1996-97, we were named the Outstanding Class "A" Sports Program in the State of WV by the Charleston Gazette.  Our Football team has been champions of the LKC (in class or overall) in 1985, and every year from 1995 through 2001.  The number of Sectional and Regional titles attained by our teams is in the hundreds.  In the lobby of the gym are the photos of many of our First-Team All-State athletes, whose contributions made these team successes possible.
Visit the individual pages for schedules, results, and the history of various programs.  For Jr. High information, try the main page of the corresponding varsity sport.
