Grades at PCHS

The grading scale at PCHS is schoolwide (and now based on Diocesan policy), and designed to keep expectations high for good performance by our students.  Since most of our student body intends to attend college, we hope that high standards will help them set high goals, resulting in exemplary performance for their future.  Most of our graduates believe that because of the expectations at PCHS, including Exam preparedness, they find college requirements less strenuous than some of their fellow collegians.  The grading scale is:

100 - 93   A
92  -  85   B
84  -  77   C
76  -  69   D

(The scale, of course, does not reflect the difficulty in reaching that goal.
Only individual tests can show the extent to which students must reach to attain these scores.)

Parents will also expect mid-Quarter Progress Reports in each class, and are welcome to call their students' teachers at any time to discuss specific concerns.
Conferences will also be offered at regular times throughout the year to permit more personal discussions.
