NCA Report 2004
NCA Report Lauds PCHS for "an outstanding school"

We have finally received the written report from our North Central Association peer review, which occurred last spring.  Though we have long known that we were approved with flying colors, the language of the team should be considered a compliment to everyone associated with our community.
I will quote from the report (italics mine):
"Despite minor problems with data interpretation, the school's massive undertaking still resulted in verifiable improvement, for which the staff and students should be proud."
"The team was impressed with the commitment to school improvement by the faculty and staff.  The progress made toward the goals is a direct result of their commitment to providing constant school improvement for the good of their students."
"(There is) a strong sense of mutual respect among students, parents, and teachers, as well as a strong sense of community.  A strong sense of pride and shared convictions, religious and otherwise, make an obvious statement within the school community.  The fact that faculty continue to follow graduates for years was evident in various comments by both faculty and parents.  The cooperative nature of the staff, especially in the area of writing across the curriculum, was outstanding."
"It is recommended that the school look at avenues to acquire faster computer access for students as well as a computer lab that is able to meet the increased needs beyond just a computer class."
"The tremendous cooperation among the faculty and staff across the curriculum, but especially in the area of writing, was outstanding.  Test scores on the English section of the ACT are remarkably improved, presumably as a result of the broad emphasis on accurate communication through writing.  This endeavor is quite impressive and goes to support the outstanding commitment made by this faculty and staff to improve the quality of learning for students."
"The team is grateful for the hospitality shown to us by the faculty and staff of Parkersburg Catholic High School and we wish them continued success in their efforts to improve upon an already outstanding school."

We continue to be fully-accredited, and proud of it.  Bring on the next evaluation!
